Bikram Choudhury is the founder of Bikram Yoga, a series of 26 yoga postures practiced in a room that’s roughly 100 degrees. Bikram started practicing yoga in India when he was four years old, and there are now over 2000 Bikram Yoga centers across the globe, including in South Africa, China, England and the United States. Bikram refers to his class as a torture chamber but insists that 90 minutes of suffering is better than 90 years of suffering.
Bikram explains how he launched a popular—and controversial—yoga brand, from scratch.
